Key Finding: Jan 6 - Jan 26

Parties, blocs and independent candidates filed a total of nineteen complaints with the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) during this reporting period. The complaints focused on campaign finance declarations, early campaigning, campaign advertising, and disagreements over the District Electoral Commissions (DEC) decisions to register certain candidates or deny registration to others. According to the Electoral Code, depending on the subject matter of the complaints, the CEC is required to review and issue a decision within three to five days of the complaint. Based upon IRI’s observations, all complaints were reviewed and decided on in a timely fashion.
